Q. How do I place an order?
It depends on what you want. Have a look through the online shop – many items can be bought directly from there in a wide array of colours and other options. The online shop can’t handle one-off items and/or anything that needs to be tooled or dyed to order, so you’ll have to contact Leather for Folkies to discuss your needs.
Q. How do I pay?
The online shop offers a smorgasbord of options which you can select at the checkout. Cheques and card payments are fine. BACS is the preferred method of payment, while ‘Cash at Festival’ is generally not available without prior arrangement. For orders that are not placed online (i.e. by phone, e-mail or in person), card payments aren’t available but other methods are.
Unlike businesses that deliver next day, the lead times (see below) on Leather for Folkies products generally mean that there’s plenty of time for bank transfers and cheques to clear before dispatching goods, so it’s all pretty flexible.
Q. How long after I order will I get my stuff?
A. This depends largely on the workload at the time – remember that almost everything is made entirely by hand from scratch – but 2-3 weeks is normal unless items happen to be in stock. Lead times around Christmas and during the peak of festival season may be longer. If it’s urgent please say so before you order as sometimes things can be rushed through in an emergency!
Q. How much is postage?
Postage is based on the biggest/heaviest/most valuable item in the order, as you might expect, and it’s worth your while ordering lots of stuff at once as this works out cheaper for postage. See Delivery for a bit more info.
Q. What about returns?
This is covered in the T’s and C’s.
Q. What kind of leather do you use?
See the How it’s made page for this kind of info.
Q. How do I look after my belt/kit bag/pouch etc.?
See the Care page for this kind of info.
Q. What if I have a question that isn’t on here?
