Q. How do I place an order?

It depends on what you want. Have a look through the online shop – many leatherwork items can be bought directly from there in a wide array of colours and other options. The online shop can’t handle one-off items and/or anything that needs to be tooled or dyed to order, so you’ll have to contact me to discuss your needs.

For clogs, in all honesty the quickest way to order a pair and get onto the order book is just to contact me with as much information as you can, including:

  • Size (shoe size, and clog size if you know it)
  • Style (see the Shop section of the website – new styles will appear here when they become available)
  • Colour
  • Toe style (common or duck)
  • Bare wood, indoor rubbers or outdoor rubbers
  • Any fancy overtongues, crimping etc.

Q. How do I pay?

The online shop offers a smorgasbord of options which you can select at the checkout. Cheques and card payments are fine. BACS is the preferred method of payment, while ‘Cash at Festival’ is generally not available without prior arrangement. For orders that are not placed online (i.e. by phone, e-mail or in person), card payments aren’t available but the other methods are.

Unlike businesses that deliver next day, the lead times on my products generally mean that there’s plenty of time for bank transfers and cheques to clear before dispatching goods, so it’s all pretty flexible.

Q. How long after I order will I get my stuff?

A. This depends largely on the workload at the time – remember that almost everything is made entirely by hand from scratch – but several months is normal for clogs unless items happen to be in stock. Complex leatherwork orders take a similar time, but smaller leather items can be made fairly quickly and I keep some in stock e.g. belts, tankard loops.

Lead times around Christmas and during the peak of festival season are particularly challenging. If it’s urgent please say so before you order as sometimes things can be rushed through in an emergency!

Q. How much is postage?

Postage costs for items bought through the online shop are based on the biggest/heaviest/most valuable item in the order, and it’s worth your while ordering several items at once as this works out cheaper for postage. See Delivery for a bit more info.
